A developer and retailer of innovative educational products for grades K–3, Primary Concepts engaged Chris de Heer Design to create an e-commerce site to expand their direct mail catalog business.
After investigating the capabilities of various out-of-the-box e-commerce packages, we determined none of them offered adequate flexibility in terms of design or functionality to meet Primary Concepts' branding or merchandising requirements. Rather than develop all the functionality from scratch, however, we used an out-of-the-box solution as a starting point, redesigning every page and adding various functional customizations. Chris de Heer Design partnered with Marker Seven for back-end development.
